FAVORITE METRO LOCALS: Matuschka Briggs, Little Rock
Vice President and Regional Executive at Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis – Little Rock Branch

Matuschka Briggs moved to Little Rock in June 2022 for role at the St. Louis Federal Bank as regional executive for the Little Rock branch. Since moving here, she’s traveled all over to see what The Natural State has to offer. She’s discovered Arkansas’ beautiful scenery and landscape, along with delicious locally-owned restaurants. And while she’s still searching for a local pickleball group, her new coworkers have been a welcome support system.
To welcome her at the branch, Matuschka’s colleagues wrote down their favorite restaurants, not only in the Metro but throughout the state. Now, when her family comes to visit, they have a list of some of the best places to eat locally.
“I am not going to lie – eating is by far our family’s favorite thing to do,” Matuschka said. “That could be a problem, since there is so much good food in the 'Rock!’”
– MATUSCHKA
On Sunday evenings, Matuschka and her husband Malcolm have a standing date at The Faded Rose in Riverdale. They order a nice glass of sauvignon blanc and the Cajun popcorn. They usually split one of the steaks, and highly recommend the fish. She’ll tell any newcomer that they must order the soaked salad and crawfish rice, if nothing else.
One of Matuschka’s favorite local events is the Arkansas Cinema Society Filmland event. It is curated to celebrate and inspire filmmakers in Arkansas by showcasing their art and talents.
She loves how central the location of the Metro is to everything else in the state, and enjoys visiting lakes to fish, parks and biking trails.
“Little Rock is a big small town,” Matuschka said. “People are friendly and helpful, and life is just simpler (in a good way). Instead of rush hour, you can be anywhere in 20 minutes. We’ve got an awesome airport that easily can take you anywhere you want to go in the U.S. And there is also so much to do outdoors!”
