Home for most of her life, Melissa Simpson returned to central Arkansas from Texas after she had her first daughter with husband Kevin. Writing from her home office in Cabot allows her the flexibility needed to be highly involved with her two children.

Why is central Arkansas great for raising a family? We really have access to everything that is good about the state. We are close to the best medical facilities. For, example my son has a chronic disease, so Arkansas Children’s Hospital is our best friend. We are so fortunate to be close for those appointments and it’s the same for adult care. You get the benefits of the city and the outdoor activities all in one.

What activities does your family enjoy? Our favorite area to camp when we get the chance is Heber Springs. We also love to go watch the Travelers play. My daughter and I love the theater, so we’ll be at The Rep a lot.
