Dr. Tamara Perry
Arkansas Children’s Hospital: Division of Pediatric Allergy/Immunology & The Center for Respiratory, Asthma, & Allergic Disorders

Primarily focused on researching the importance of environmental factors on asthma in high-risk and underserved populations, Dr. Tamara Perry is in familiar territory as a University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences staff member at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Research Institute. She completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at ACH and UAMS in 2001.

What do you think ACH brings to the central Arkansas community? The number of specialists and sub-specialists here providing care for children doesn’t compare to anything else in the state. Most pediatric medical conditions can be cared for right here. Nationally, it’s recognized for its pediatric heart center and heart transplantation program. It’s actually one of the largest pediatric medical centers in the U.S.

What does the ACH Research Institute do? Its overall purpose is to carry out cutting edge research for pediatrics, so that children in the state can benefit from the newest and latest procedures, medications and treatment protocol.
