West Little Rock
Generally, anything lying west of Interstate 430 is considered west Little Rock, which makes this section of town an expansive one. Cantrell Road and Chenal Parkway are the major veins that carry you into west Little Rock’s spacious neighborhoods, thriving retail centers and outlying areas full of recreational opportunities.
West Little Rock is known for its gated neighborhoods and million-dollar homes, many of which are found within the 33 neighborhoods of the beautiful Chenal Valley. Among the 33 are Hallen Court (tucked into the lush green landscapes of the Bear Den and Founders courses of the renowned Chenal Country Club), Challain Place (which lies in the shadow of Shinall Mountain), Chenal Downs (a gated, equestrian community with gorgeous acreage), and so many other stunning suburban options offering families convenience, space and scenery.
Brodie Creek, a neighborhood with homes reminiscent of Seaside in Florida, and Woodlands Edge, an eco-friendly development are located in west Little Rock, and there are plenty of apartments and condo options for residents too. The Pleasant Valley area is a little older, but with large trees, wide streets, charming homes with character.
Golfers looking for membership have great options with the aforementioned Chenal Country Club (36 holes) and Pleasant Valley Country Club, known for great conditions and a stunning set of finishing holes.
Living in this area has its advantages, as many of the well-known big box retailers like Home Depot, Old Navy, Barnes & Noble and PetSmart are here. Additionally, west Little Rock is home to three shopping centers: Shackleford Crossing, a mixed-use development; Pleasant Ridge Town Center, a bustling 27-acre open-air development; and The Promenade at Chenal, a 340,000-square-foot open-air facility offering higher-end stores like Apple, Anthropologie, J. Crew, Nike and Coldwater Creek.
You’re also close to nature — hiking Pinnacle Mountain or sailing on Lake Maumelle is just a short drive away.
