The largest city in Lonoke County, Cabot is home to more than 25,000 residents. The city offers a high-ranking school system and easy access to Little Rock and recreation opportunities.
With more than 50 subdivisions, newcomers have a wide range of options for quiet neighborhoods and community living. Here, some luxury homes go for less than $350,000. Some people are drawn to the city for the school system; Cabot High School beat out more than 1,000 schools to win the 2008 Pacesetter award from High Schools That Work.
Currently, educational and health services are the largest industries here, followed by manufacturing and retail trade. But city leaders are working to position Cabot as a prime area for economic development.
If you’re an avid hunter or fisher, Cabot is a sportsman’s paradise. In fact, the nearby Little Red River is a first-class trout stream. If hitting the links is more your style, there are several picturesque golf courses located within the city. Cabot also hosts exciting annual events, like the Strawberry Festival or CabotFest, which began in 1978 as a celebration called “Cabot: We’re Back” two years after tornadoes destroyed the town.
